Comparisons
HubSpot vs Sellsy: full comparison and which to choose
Sellsy combines CRM, invoicing, cash management and marketing for French SMEs; HubSpot unites marketing, sales and service on a CRM that scales. We compare them point by point.
If you are an SME in France and want CRM, quotes, e-invoicing and cash management in a single tool, Sellsy is a serious and very complete option on the admin side. If what you need is to attract, sell, serve and measure on a CRM that keeps pace as you grow across countries and teams, HubSpot is the better choice for most growing companies. We go through it criterion by criterion, giving Sellsy credit where it is due.
Quick verdict: Sellsy wins at running a French SME: from quote to invoice to cash flow, with data hosted in France. HubSpot wins on everything customer-facing: marketing, sales, service, Breeze, automation, reporting and ecosystem. To grow, HubSpot as your central CRM connected to your invoicing system is the strongest bet.
What are Sellsy and HubSpot?
Sellsy is a French software publisher for SMEs, acquired by the Italian group TeamSystem. Its offering is organised into modules: Sales (contacts, quotes, e-signature, pipelines), Invoicing (e-invoicing, online payment, reminders, purchasing and pre-accounting), Cash Management (bank sync and forecasting) and Marketing as an add-on (landing pages, email and SMS campaigns, automation and lead scoring).
HubSpot is a customer platform built on a shared CRM, Smart CRM. On top of it sit Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, Content Hub, Data Hub and Revenue Hub (formerly Commerce Hub), with Breeze as the AI layer. Each hub comes in Starter, Professional and Enterprise editions, and you can begin with the free tools.
The focus is different. Sellsy is sales and finance management software strongly geared towards the French market. HubSpot is a customer relationship platform designed to work just as well in Barcelona, Milan or Dubai.
CRM and data model: how do they differ?
Sellsy works with companies, contacts, opportunities, quotes, invoices and products, with custom fields. For an SME that sells and invoices, everything stays connected in one tool, which is very convenient for admin.
HubSpot starts with contacts, companies, deals and tickets, with association labels and, on Enterprise, custom objects to model contracts, subscriptions, properties or orders. When the business gets more complex (several legal entities, several teams, recurring products), that flexibility saves you from forcing processes into text fields.
Which is better for the sales team?
Sellsy covers pipelines, quotes with e-signature, opportunity tracking and scoring that takes into account how the customer engages with the quote. For a small team that sells and invoices, it is an effective loop.
Sales Hub is designed for teams that want to sell more: follow-up sequences, meeting links, call logging, playbooks, a prospecting workspace, quotes linked to the product library and team-level forecasting. With permissions and business units, the structure holds up as the sales team grows or expands into other countries.
Is Sellsy any good for marketing?
Sellsy offers a marketing module with landing pages, email and SMS campaigns, automation and lead scoring, sold separately and run on sending credits. For occasional campaigns to your customer base, it is enough.
Marketing Hub is built to make marketing a revenue engine: behaviour-based segmentation, branching nurture flows, revenue attribution by campaign, ads, SEO and content through Content Hub. And all on the same record that sales and support see.

Invoicing and cash management: Sellsy’s home turf
Sellsy is strong here and it deserves saying plainly. Invoices, purchase and delivery orders, purchasing, online payment, automatic reminders, pre-accounting, bank sync and cash forecasting in the same tool. In France, Sellsy has also prepared for the national e-invoicing reform.
HubSpot does not try to replace your invoicing software. Revenue Hub covers quotes, payments and subscriptions, and for statutory invoices the usual approach is to integrate HubSpot with your invoicing tool or ERP: when a deal is won, the invoice is created there and the number, PDF and payment status come back to the record.
Customer service and after-sales
Sellsy’s current offering focuses on sales, invoicing, cash management and marketing; it is not positioned as a support tool. Service Hub is: tickets with queues and priorities, SLAs, a customer portal, a knowledge base, surveys and a Breeze customer agent that answers using the contact’s full history. For businesses with recurring contracts, this carries a lot of weight.
Automation: how far does each one go?
Sellsy includes automations for routine sales and invoicing tasks, and in reviews some users say they miss more advanced features. HubSpot runs workflows on contacts, companies, deals, tickets and custom objects, with branches, delays, webhooks and, on higher editions, custom code actions. You can automate anything from lead assignment to contract renewals or onboarding a new customer.
AI: Breeze vs Sellsy IA
Sellsy IA helps you draft and correct emails and comments, translate or shorten text, summarise a customer record and generate email templates. According to Sellsy, it is built on Mistral AI models, and usage runs on credits depending on the plan. It is useful AI for day-to-day admin and sales work.
Breeze goes further because it sees the full marketing, sales and service history. Breeze Assistant works inside the CRM, and the agents handle customer queries, prospect, enrich data, create content and campaigns, nurture leads and chase payments, with a builder for your own agents. Many features consume HubSpot Credits, so it pays to plan usage.
Reporting and management visibility
Sellsy provides sales, invoicing and cash reports that are useful for an SME’s financial control. HubSpot combines marketing, sales and service on the same database: cost per lead, conversion by channel, sales cycle, retention and revenue by campaign, in dashboards for each team or for leadership.
Integrations and API
Sellsy has an open API, a marketplace with more than a hundred apps and connectors for tools widely used in France, such as Qonto, Pennylane and GoCardless, as well as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Stripe and Make. HubSpot has one of the largest ecosystems in the industry, an extensively documented API, private apps, webhooks and UI Extensions for building custom screens inside the CRM. See our HubSpot integrations page for detail.

Which is easier to use?
Sellsy brings many features together in a clear interface for the admin side. In reviews, some users find navigation between modules less intuitive and say it takes a few days to master everything. HubSpot stands out for ease of adoption: a clean interface, contextual help and HubSpot Academy with free role-based training.
Implementation and total cost of ownership
Sellsy charges per user and per module, with Standard, Evolution and Elite tiers, an annual commitment, minimum user numbers in some cases and credits for e-signatures, emails, SMS or AI. HubSpot offers free tools and per-hub editions, with seats by user type and an initial onboarding that HubSpot requires on higher editions. Check HubSpot’s official pricing and Sellsy’s official offers.
For a fair comparison, add to Sellsy the marketing module, the support tool you would still need and any connections required if you operate outside France. For HubSpot, count the hubs you will use and the integration with your invoicing system.

Support, community and partners
Sellsy offers support, onboarding sessions and packs of consulting hours depending on the plan, with service that is particularly well regarded in French. HubSpot adds a global community, HubSpot Academy with certifications and a worldwide network of partners who implement, integrate and build. At Vexco we are a HubSpot Diamond Solutions Partner, rated 4.9/5 in HubSpot’s directory, with consultants and developers in the same team.
Security, GDPR and EU data hosting
This is a strong point for Sellsy: it states that the platform is operated and hosted in France, with an ISO 27001-certified hosting provider. HubSpot lets you host your account in its EU data centre, offers a data processing agreement, consent management and, on higher editions, SSO and audit logs. In both cases, review the DPA and sub-processors with your data protection officer.

When might Sellsy make sense?
- A French SME that wants CRM, e-invoicing and cash management from a single supplier.
- A business whose main challenge is admin: quoting, invoicing, collecting payments and forecasting cash.
- A company with a strict requirement to host data in France.
- A small team with no need for ticket-based support or advanced marketing.
If that is you and your growth does not depend on digital marketing or multiple countries, Sellsy can serve you well.
Verdict: why HubSpot wins
- One platform for the whole customer lifecycle. Marketing, sales, service and content on the same CRM.
- First-class marketing and service. Native Marketing Hub and Service Hub, with no extra modules or external tools.
- Breeze with full context. Agents that work with the customer’s entire history, not just text.
- Ready to grow and go international. Custom objects, teams, business units and use across several countries.
- An unrivalled ecosystem. Marketplace, API, partners and a global community to connect each country’s invoicing.
How to migrate from Sellsy to HubSpot
First, decide what moves and what stays. The usual approach is to bring companies, contacts, opportunities, activities and notes into HubSpot, and keep invoicing and cash management in a connected system. Historical invoices can be brought across as a summary on the company or as an associated object if you need them for reporting.
- Export and inventory your data via export or the API, including custom fields.
- Clean and de-duplicate companies and contacts before loading anything.
- Map stages and properties and store the Sellsy ID on every record.
- Keep the dates of creation and closing so historical reports stay intact.
- Carry over consent and each contact’s subscription status.
- Connect invoicing and test it with real data before cut-over day.
- Week 1Audit and scoping decisions
- Week 2Object and property mapping
- Week 3Test migration
- Week 4Invoicing integration
- Cut-over dayFinal migration and checks
